WWW peril warning

We’ve been hearing stories like this for years.  I believe that yes, it is happening, and yes it is a problem, but how far will things go until it truly becomes a life threatening problem?  in the article there’s an example of a hacker remotely hijacking a jeep Cherokee’s digital system over the internet.  If hackers are able to do that now, what will they doing 10 years from how?
